DEF LEPPARD's COLLEN To Appear At LORELEI SHELLIST Book Signing

June 7, 2009

Late DEF LEPPARD guitarist Steve Clark's former girlfriend Lorelei Shellist will sign copies of her new book, "Runway RunAway", on Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis Kidd Booksellers in Nashville, Tennessee. Joining her will be special guest Phil Collen, lead guitarist of DEF LEPPARD.

What happens when the world of fashion collides with the world of rock? Shellist writes about life before, during and after rock 'n rock's biggest party as she chronicles her journey from teen runaway, to international success on the runway, to her ultimately tragic relationship as the fiancée of the late DEF LEPPARD guitar great Steve Clark.

"Runway RunAway" is her story, a 300-page memoir that at the surface may seem all glitz and glam, but whose beauty runs deep — an every woman's quest for strength, hope, happiness, understanding and inner peace. It chronicles Lorelei's journey from the streets of Los Angeles, as a teenage runaway waitressing at The House of Pies, to the catwalks of Paris, France working as a model/muse to Chanel, YSL, and Christian Lacroix, among many.

Rebellious, headstrong, independent and on her own at 15, Lorelei dreamed of being a model. She made that happen through determination and serendipity; a chance meeting with a '70s Southern California rock star opened the A-list Hollywood doors to a wondrous world, as well as a full-blown romance.

Pounding the pavements in L.A. and New York taught her the hard knocks of being a working-class model. Fortitude and sheer will jetted her off to Europe, where she met the doomed love her life, fiancé Steve Clark of DEF LEPPARD.

Theirs was a relationship mired in dizzying highs and bottomless lows, as she watched Steve drink and drug himself to death, and caught herself in the wake of his spiraling cycle of addiction and depression, unable to help.

Ultimately fleeing and finding the strength to save herself, Lorelei shares her candid and blatant truth of how she survived the greatest loss in her life, the aftermath and the determination to not only survive, but to heal her-self and to help heal others.

"Runway RunAway" is highlighted by never-before-seen photos taken backstage in the music and fashion industries, hand written journal entries, agenda pages, and backstage passes illustrating the story of neglected child turned teenage runaway who follows her dreams to become an international model, eventually finding her-self in the process.

Lorelei Shellist, an international couture model and actress, has appeared in films, commercials, magazines and television programs. Her delightful wit and sense of humor (as well as her "perfect fit" measurements) enabled her to serve as a graceful and spirited muse for top designers such as Karl Lagerfeld, Yves St. Laurent, Christian Lacroix, Bob Mackie, Geoffrey Beene and Giorgio Armani.

Lorelei can be seen in VH1's DEF LEPPARD "Behind The Music" documentary. She has been portrayed by model Amber Valetta in the VH1 movie "Hysteria". A graduate of the Masters program in spiritual psychology from the University of Santa Monica, Lorelei today specializes in family and relationship coaching, personal growth, healing, and strategies for success. Her goal is to help and inspire others to manifest grace, joy and authenticity in their lives.
